Stakeholder analysis

The practice of identifying the people and groups affected by a change and assessing their influence, impact, and readiness to guide engagement effort.

Stakeholder analysis maps everyone affected by or able to affect a change, then assesses each on dimensions such as influence, impact, and current readiness. The output guides where to invest engagement — deep involvement for high-influence, high-impact groups, and lighter, regular communication for others.

Because readiness moves as a change progresses, stakeholder analysis is most useful when it is kept live rather than treated as a one-time exercise.
